Katherine Venterelli has been a notable art instru

Katherine Venterelli has been a notable art instructor and lecturer for the past 45 years sharing her passion for the printmaking medium. Her artworks are held in numerous private and special collections including the Palace Legion of Honor, S.F., and the Crocker Art Museum. On October 21st and 22nd, join Katherine as she shares a glimpse of her printmaking wisdom in her Drawing into the Print with Drypoint workshop.⁠

Drypoint is a non-toxic printmaking technique dating all the way back to the 15th century. In a hands-on experience, workshop participants will learn the fundamentals of plate-making, use of simple drypoint tools, inking using nontoxic inks, press printing techniques, and exploring the possibilities of adding monoprint and chine collé/collaging to the image.⁠

Interested in learning how to find, apply, fund most of the vast array of artist residencies? How’d You Get That Awesome Residency with Lexa Walsh will tackle preparation of applications through work samples, CV’s, artist statements, work plans and budgets. This class will provide important yet practical guidance for entering the realm of artist residencies!⁠

Lexa Walsh is an artist and cultural worker based in Oakland who works as an anthropologist, archivist, curator, facilitator and experience-maker. She is a graduate of Portland State University’s Art & Social Practice MFA program and was Social Practice Artist in Residence in Portland Art Museum’s Education department. She was a recipient of Southern Exposure’s Alternative Exposure Award, the CEC Artslink Award, the Gunk Grant and was a de Young Artist Fellow. Walsh has participated in a myriad of projects, exhibitions and performances at Apexart, di Rosa, Kala Art Institute, NIAD, Oakland Museum of California, SFMOMA, Smack Mellon, Walker Art Center, Williams College Museum of Art, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, and has done several international artist residencies, tours and projects in Europe and Asia.⁠
