This enjoyable 4 session class will take place in the Verge classroom over two weekends. The goal of this course is to guide beginner potters through the entire process of throwing a small bowl on the wheel. The process has many steps that your instructor will break down into their components. In the first session, you will learn how to center the clay and make at least one bowl. During the second session, the bowls will be trimmed (adding a base), and finally you will learn how to glaze your creations in the third session. You will have plenty of time to practice and staff will fire everything you finish for you to pick up at a later date. No previous experience is necessary. We will provide all the tools and clay you need. This course is geared toward beginners, but is also appropriate for anyone who needs a refresher course to gain confidence on the wheel.
