If you need time outside of our typical print lab hours to work on your projects, you can now book time in Myrtle Press to use our printmaking facility! Drop-in hours will be available Tuesdays from 5-8pm. You must book at least 24 hours in advance. Booking your slot can be done either over the phone at (916) 448-2985 or via email to education@vergecontemporary.org.

What’s Included: 

  • Presses
    • Charles Brand etching press, 32″ x 52″ (large format)
    • Takach press for lino, monoprint, and relief
    • Griffin lithography press with scraper bars
    • Rutherford lithography pressEquipment and Materials
    • Lithography: Stones and materials available
    • Relief printing: 8” x 10” grey lino, carving tools, and rollers
    • Etching: Edinburgh etch for copper, with ferric chloride acid coming soon for zinc. Ventilated
    room for acid. Other important items: asphaltum, hard ground, and soft ground available
    • Screen printing: Small screens, UV exposure unit in a dark room (no vacuum table), red light in
    dark room, table boards with clamps, squeegees, scoop coaters, and washout sink (high grade
    dishwashing handle for washout, no pressure washer)
    • Ink provided for all methods
    • Stonehenge paper available for proofing
    • Additional tools: tear bar, soaking baths, hot plates, drying racks, and all the essentials for each
    process
