Join Verge Center for the Arts Saturday February 1st from 10am – 5pm for Free Museum Day!

While Verge is always free, we will have special events and activities for Museum Day including art activities, artist discussions, tours, raffles, and more. All activities and discussions are family friendly. See the schedule below for more details.

10 AM: Let the fun begin! Verge Gallery and Axis Gallery open.

11 AM: Discussion with Verge exhibiting artist and Ali Youssefi Project Artist in Residence, Jodi Connelly and Verge Public Programs Coordinator, Justina Martino.

12 PM: Peter Foucault’s Portable Printmaking Lab will be open in the Verge Classroom from 12pm – 4pm

Gallery talk with exhibiting artist, Kenna Doeringer, at Axis Gallery

1 PM: Gallery tours of the current exhibits with Verge Executive Director, Liv Moe and Artist, Jodi Connelly.

2 PM: Gallery talk with exhibiting artist, Kenna Doeringer, at Axis Gallery

4 PM: Portable Print Lab closes.

5 PM: Museum Day ends. Verge Gallery and Axis Gallery close.

Presented by Sacramento Area Museums (SAM), Free Museum Day is a day to celebrate the amazing museums in the region! In addition to free admission to area museums, SAM has partnered with local restaurants to give exclusive discounts to Free Museum Day attendees. Just show an “I ♥ Sac Museums” sticker at participating restaurants on February 1st (you can pick one up at any participating museum on February 1st).

Looking for a way to get around to all of the museums? You are in luck! SAM has partnered with SacRT to provide free rides for Free Museum Day. Visiting from outside Sacramento? Amtrak will provide 45% off tickets to Sacramento on February 1st, 2020.
