Join us for a three-session introductory wheel throwing class! Over the course of three weeks, you will learn the entire wheel throwing process from start to finish. You will first learn how to center the clay and begin forming your vessels. During the next session, the vessels will be trimmed and ultimately fired by Verge staff. The class will conclude with you glazing your creation. You will have plenty of time to practice and staff will fire everything for you to pick up at a later date. No previous experience is needed. All tools and materials included in registration!

This course is geared toward beginners, but is also appropriate for anyone who needs a refresher and would like a more extensive introduction to the facilities at Verge’s Clay Lab.

WHEN: Thursdays, March, 7, 14, & 21 5:00-8:00 pm

WHERE: Verge Center for the Arts

About the Instructor

Sam Radetsky has been a potter for nearly 20 years. His approach to ceramics is an equal focus on skill and creativity. Without skill and ability, creativity cannot be realized, and without creativity and imagination, skill can become stale. Radetsky’s pottery, both functional and sculptural, has been featured in various shows, exhibits, and events, and is in homes throughout Northern California and beyond. Radetsky is always excited to introduce others to the art form that has given him so much joy and about which he is so passionate.
