You’ll gain know-how that you can implement right away and throughout the year with all of your outreach efforts. No matter your reasons for doing Sac Open Studios—to sell work, share your art with designers, gallerists and collectors, or to have a party—this workshop will leave you feeling excited and ready to promote your Open Studio!

Inviting the public into your art space can be a daunting task. In this workshop you’ll learn how to break down the prep process into easy, actionable steps that are doable, even for artists who are shy about sharing their work or overwhelmed by the thought of getting ready to show their art in such a personal way.
We’ll share real-life success stories from Sac Open Studio artists to give you examples of how you can make your next studio event even better. You’ll learn what these artists did to get people in the door and to make sales.
This workshop is led by Kate Farrall, a Sac Open Studios volunteer and artist as well as a mentor for artists, makers and creative entrepreneurs who want to earn more from what they do. They’ve got amazing art, handmade objects, and life changing services to offer but feel frustrated that they’re not selling more and aren’t sure what to do about it. She helps them connect and engage with people who want their work so they can stay true to what they love doing while earning more money. Kate is also an artist who loves all things alternative photography. SHe has exhibited her work alongside the work of Marco Breuer, Heather Ackroyd and Dan Harvey, Binh Danh and Ann Hamilton. SHe holds a MFA in Photography from the California College of the Arts as well as a BA in Art History and a BA in Photography from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
