Sharpen your skills as a writer and reader and deepen your connection to our community of poets! Writer Joe Boyle will lead this workshop in poetry for adult writers of all experience levels. Over the course of 4 two-hour sessions and 1 final open-mic meeting, participants will be supported in crafting and revising original work. All subject matters and styles are welcome—received forms from sonnets to ghazals, free verse, prose poems and more. Each session will include audio/visual or print resources provided by the instructor, as well as optional themes, to assist in “charging the air” with language and inspiration. Each workshop member will also receive constructive criticism to benefit their revision process and celebrate their accomplishments. As a workshop—as opposed to a class—emphasis will be placed on collaboration and discussion instead of lecture.

WHEN: Saturdays, October 5 – November 2, 2024, 2:30-4:30 PM

WHERE: Verge Center for the Arts
