We’ll use a combination of hand and press printing for these techniques. Prints may be hand colored to enhance surfaces. Materials are provided. This workshop is appropriate for beginners with no previous printmaking experience and experienced printmakers alike.

About the instructor:

Sara Post is an American artist working in painting, printmaking and collage.  She grew up in Texas where lived with her poet grandmother and artistic great aunts. She studied art and literature as an undergraduate, followed by a master’s degree in ceramics and art education. She and her husband, Thomas Post, founded a studio pottery, T. S. Post Ceramics, in Davis, California in 1981. Sara Post’s ceramic wall works have been widely commissioned for public spaces as well as purchased for private collections. In 2007, she left ceramics to return to painting and printmaking, starting with a monotype residency at Il Bisonte in Florence, italy. A strong interest in layered surfaces led her to pursue mixed media oil painting. She maintains a studio, Art 26, in downtown Davis, California. Post teaches workshops in abstract painting, drawing and printmaking at art centers across the U.S. Her work is represented by Sparrow Gallery in Sacramento, CA, Sager-Braudis Gallery in Columbia, Missouri and Jen Tough Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
