In this workshop, we’ll be exploring a painterly method of Screen Printing, known as Drawing Fluid, and Screen Filler. It provides an effective way for artists to transfer their creative imagery onto a variety of surfaces; commonly printed on paper, and fabric. This easily accessible technique allows for a very hands on approach to create a printable screen that requires few steps, and is relatively inexpensive. Each image will be drawn, then painted directly on the screen with brushes, but it’s ideal for free-hand, abstract, and experimentation. You’ll develop an understanding of fundamental printmaking terms, materials, setting-up, and pulling a print. You’ll emerge from this workshop with a greater understanding for Screen Printing, and including your very own set of vibrant prints. Also, we will be trading prints with fellow artists! It’s welcomed to have your simple imagery prepared prior to but not necessary. We will specifically focus on producing one of a kind prints on paper. No experience is required!
